Dark brown periods are a sign that the blood that comes out of the vagina is old, rather than new. It could be that your lining of the uterus is very thin and there isn't a lot of blood, just a little bit of discharge. Having 2 periods a month isn't normal. Sounds like breakthrough bleeding. Reasons are typically hormone imbalance. Could be weight as well (thin/heavy). OCP can help regulate.
