Stool color: Stool color can be variable. Generally the more rapidly iit passes greener it is, or the more bilirubin it contains.Worry if the stool has no color or if it contains blood.

Thick poop: If you are formula feeding try a different formula. The green color is from the bile that has not been reabsorbed. It is responsible for absorption of fats. Thick stools can be hard for your baby to pass and be uncomfortable. If you are BFing try either 1 tsp. dark Karo syrup in 2 oz. of warm water twice a day or 2 oz. apple juice twice a day. At this age you want soft yellow seedy stools.

Baby poop: Meconium (green stools) are normal in babies. It takes a while for the liver to get up to speed in in newborns. It is important for digestion and stool color. when it is new, the stool will be normal. As the baby grows the stool will get darker and eventually brown.
