Exam: Insomnia can occur on its' own; however, the shortness of breath is worrisome- get examined by GYN.

See OBGYN ASAP.: Holiday weekends are hard to deal with sometimes, but either call Tues AM for an appt or go to Urgent Care or an ER if it's too worrisome to wait. It may be a false alarm and not related to the pregnancy (anxiety can do things like that) but it's better to play it safe, right? Don't worry - just take smart action. I hope it goes well and is an easy fix.

Call her OB/GYN: So long as your wife is not in the middle of an asthmatic attack & the color around her lips, mouth, & fingernails are normal then, she's OK. Admittedly, 13 weeks is a bit early for pressure against the diaphragm to be an issue but insomnia could be from the changes in her body. Her OB/GYN doc will have some other thoughts of reassurance. Have her rest & relax.Tell her a joke or 2

See the doctor: Your wife should see the OB doctor as soon as possible. He or she will evaluate these symptoms and determine if there is need for referral to a specialist.
