MRI: Not necessarily the may put you in feet first and then only as far as need be to get your knee viewed

Heads or Tails?: Depends on where you go.You'll have to call the MRI people and ask, or ask your doctor if he knows.They have ways of keeping much of your body outside that clanking tube and wherever you are going will use them. There are also so-called "open MRIs" ans "standing MRIs" that help focus on the specific area of the body. But, hey, if you'd like lying next to a tumbling dryer full of marbles go for it!

Not usually: Usually placed on mobile table which moves the patient's lower extremity into the magnet. Adult knee evaluation has head of patient not inside scanner.
