A member asked:

Tell me about the contraceptive implanon ive been using it since i was 14, recently had it replaced as it expired and having negative side effects?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Implanon: Implanon is a progesterone only contraceptive. Abnormal bleeding, whether that is bleeding every day, no bleeding at all or anything in between, is the biggest side effect. Many people are like you and have no significant bleeding. It is a long acting contraceptive. This does not negate the fact that you should still use condoms to protect against sexually transmitted diseases.
