Yes: Many patients have been successful with microgestin since it is a small, daily dose of hormone. Depo-provera is a popular birth control method for many women with an added side-effect - no periods for 3 months; but to accomplish this, a big hormone dose is injected at once, and is absorbed slowly over 3 months. Microgestin is much less likely to cause acne, depression, or weight gain.
