Two issues: A hard ball like a lump is suggestive of an abscess. The moist common cause is a draining infection from a lower tooth. Huge pain upon opening is suggestive of a TM joint issue due to either infection or a biomechanical displacing meniscus. Both issues require medical/dental attention.
