See Doctor Now: Shaving produces microscopic trauma to the skin, allows any bacteria present to invade hair follicles causing infection (Folliculitis). Infection can spread, produce pus & require antibiotics. Need to bathe with soap/water prior to shaving, use shaving cream or gel to limit trauma, use clean razor & change after 2-3 shaves to prevent recurrence. See doctor now for correct diagnosis & treatment.
