See doctor: This could be an abdominal wall hernia. A doctor's examination will suggest what to do next. It is hard to speculate about more rare issues, but looking for a hernia would be the first thought

"Look Back": Have you been lifting??? Sounds like this may be "referred pain" from your mid-upper back. You may have a pinched nerve at the 12thThoracic-First Lumbar area of your back. There is no connection with your appendix and it doesn't "sound like" something in the stomach/bowels area. Try taking some Ibuprofen aand applying heat to your back at the same level as your pain. Hope this helps
