Chest Rub for cough: Chest rubs are usually mentholated compounds that are applied topically to chest and throat and are intended for temporary relief of cough due to minor throat and bronchial irritation associated with the common cold. This works by inhalation of the vapors, similar to aromatherapy. Its non-sedating and a good alternative for children and diabetics (no sugar ). It does not cure any pathology.
