No Soccer: If you have symptoms of a viral respiratory infection you should not be doing strenuous exercise, and allow the body to concentrate on recovering from your illness. If your symptoms are not resolved in a couple of days or if you feel short of breath, you should see your PCP

That's illness...: None of us performs our best when sick. Ideally, you would take a break form althetics to help you recover. If the cough you have bothers you when not playing soccer, it's a simple matter of seeing your MD and getting an exam and treatment. You could be having Reactive Airways, viral bronchitis or there may be something else going on. If you are having trouble breathing its time to see your doc.
