Tight neck muscle: Is this due to a recent traumatic event (bruising and head ache)? this medication is good for skeletal muscle relaxation and its best taken at night or when you are resting as it will impair your reactions and relax all muscles including orbital. If you in fact have pharyngo-esophageal muscle tightness, this medication may not help and you really need speech therapy to help relax the muscles.

Muscle relaxants: There are a variety of muscle relaxants available, with variable amounts of side effects. Sedation is a very common side effect, and muscle relaxants have risks from this. Methocarbamol, chlorzoxazone, Soma (carisoprodol) (short-term use), benzodiazepines (addictive potential) are possibilities. For paradoxical vocal cord motion as a cause of throat symptoms, behavioral speech & voice therapy can be effective
