'I Smell A Rat...': Breathe out of your mouth. HaHa.If you mean an odor emanating from your nose and/or which you can smell(assuming no fumes, of course)you may have an infection, either in the nose or sinuses or both or maybe something's stuck up in there, some little foreign body or something.Or--you've been sticking your nose where it don't belong. Hope you had fun! Anyway, you may need to see a doc who can decide

It depends: On what the cause of the odor is. It could be related to a bacterial or fungal infection. It could be related to food that passes into the nose instead of down the "food pipe" during swallowing - so called nasopharyngeal reflux. Your best bet is to seek an evaluation from an ear nose throat physician. In the meanwhile, you may consider regular nasal saline rinses. Good luck.
