Follow head trauma: Post traumatic headaches in the medical community almost always refers to a headache which occurs in an individual after a traumatic injury to the head or concussion if the whack to the noggin' is hard enough. Remember, not all traumatic blows or injuries to the head necessarily have to cause a concussion. But certainly all concussions imply a traumatic brain injury. Headaches came after those.

Post-traumatic: headache is considered a form of secondary headache that occurs after head injury. In addition to headache, other associated symptoms frequently develop after head injury and the post-traumatic headache is often part of a post-traumatic syndrome.
