May be TMJ: This complaint suggests inflammation of the TMJ joint. People who gring or clench their teeth often get this. People who have misaligned teeth can get this. There are also lymph nodes in area which can get infected ofr inflammed. Rarely tumors of the parotid gland can cause these complaints. Yiou need checking by you dentist and doctor. Try soft diet, no gum, warm packs, aleve, (naproxen) etc.

Vague: Symptoms may be tmj/tmd, but need a thorough history and exam. I would not wait long or try and adjust it yourself.
