A member asked:

Industrial degreaser got on my skin and still burns 10 hours later. rinsed for 30 and washed multiple times, seems to very slowly eat away at the skin?

Caustic Reaction: Degreasers are typically strongly basic (not acidic) solutions that create a caustic reaction akin to a burn. Initial treatment is to wash the degreaser off the skin, essentially diluting it to diminish the reaction. Your symptoms indicate that the reaction is persisting and so it is best to call poison control (800-222-1222). They can give you home treatments or refer you to an ER if necessary.
