A member asked:

Is there more or less correlation between symptoms and laboratory data in younger versus older adults with chf?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

CHF: The physiologic disturbances due to CHF are the same in younger people as in older, although in younger patients the causes are usually different. The main problem for the elderly is that they probably already have some degree of coronary artery disease (circulatory insufficiency) and often some lung disease, so the symptoms may be significantly worse.
