Yes: Normal women have a cycle every month but only a few pregnancies in her life. The careful success of a pregnancy requires a host of issues to successfully line up. probably 60% of impregantions are still not successful and even in the face of many sperm many eggs are never impregnanted. Much is still a mystery.
