Varies: Definitely for as long as he is acutely ill. He could carrying the virus for many months, so even if he is feeling better, I would avoid drinking out of the same glass or sharing food.

Until he no fever: Infectious mono is transmitted by saliva.being in the same room will not put your children at risk but kissing,sharing drinks will.Good hand washing will help protect your children too.
