A member asked:

Could someone who has had musculum contagiosum when they were young catch it again when there older ? and can you explain more about what it is ??

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Virus: Molloscum contagiosum is a viral skin lesion that is seen in young children and can spread through water. I suppose it can be present in an older person. The literature would suggest that its presence in an adult might be related to some immune deficiency in the patient as this virus is not so typical in adults. I would see PCP or dermatologist to make sure of diagnosis.
