A member asked:

Will milk thistle also help bilirubin? it has improved my alt and ast to normal but my bili is not. could it be high constant with gilberts high a yr

Sort it out: I understand that you were found to have fatty liver, had high transaminases that are now down. Fatty liver is prone to heal itself especially if you get into fitness even a little bit. Milk thistle has failed most controlled studies though it does reduce toxicity of some drugs. If the bili is unconjugated and goes up if you miss a few meals, Gilbert's is likely. It's very common.
