It depends: If the colonoscopy is negative, he can eat a normal diet as soon as he is alert. If diverticulae (out-pouching) are present he may be placed on a high-fiber diet.

Depends: Depending on the finding of the colonoscopy, and what they have done, such as findings of polyps with removal, diverticulosis, there maybe some dietary modification(s) need. General rule is Advanced diet from clear liquid to full diet, increased dietary fiber intake, avoid gas forming and rich food for few days.

Depends on findings: In general, after a normal colonoscopy, patients can resume their regular diet without restriction. The medication that are commonly given can have lingering effects of nausea in some, so I do suggest avoiding rich or fatty foods for the first meal. Most importantly, when large polyps are removed or other special procedures are performed, we may ask you to remain on a clear diet for 12-24 hours.
