May be gas in large: This may be what we call the "splenic flexure syndrome" where we get gas in the large intestine where the intestine flexes from the tranversecolon to the left descending colon - across the top of the abdomen and down to the left side. The intestine turns under where the spleen is and that is why it is called the splenic flexure where the intestine turns. Intestine gas can build up = pain.
