Depends on bug: Try not to think of antibiotics in terms of "better" or "worse", rather by what bugs they treat and side effect profile. For example, Levaquin (levofloxacin) works well for kidney and prostate infections, whereas we wouldn't use it for something like chlamydia first line (that would be Azithromycin or what's in the zpack). Levaquin (levofloxacin) has a black box warning for tendon rupture, zpack no black box warning.
