I struggle with ocd/negative thoughts constantly. would a low dose of aventyl (nortriptyline) help this? what other medications help?

Better choices : SSRIs such as Zoloft, Prozac, Celexa, on Lexapro (escitalopram) are always top shelf treatment for anxiety. The medication you mention is a tricyclic antidepressant with cardiac side effects possible. Ask your physician about the main and side effects and risks and benefits of these medications. Not really.: Aventyl or Pamelor may help with depression and anxiety but the standard of treatment of OCD is usually a higher than usual dosage of antidepressants such as Prozac, Zoloft, Luvox, Anafranil, Paxil (paroxetine) or Lexapro.
