Many causes: You could certainly have come into contact with something you are having an allergic reaction to. It could also be a symptoms of gall bladder dysfunction or cholestasis. Keep the area clean, use benadryl (diphenhydramine) as directed, and try Cortizone cream to the area twice daily. If it does not start to improve in a few days, and certainly if it gets worse, you have vomiting or jaundice see your doctor.
