Infection: Green means white cells are present trying to fight off an infection. It could be viral or bacterial. After 6 days and with fever I would see a doctor for testing and evaluation, looking for pneumonia, bronchitis, sinusitis. Especially important to be seen if you have any underlying disease such as asthma or COPD, or any illness affecting your immune system.

Viral infection: Hi, it seems you have a Viral illness, possibly involving your upper respiratory tract, take Advil or Tylenol, (acetaminophen) stay well hydrated, drink warm tea, eat soups, rest, u also can try steaming, these infections will go away by itself in a wk or so, no need for Antibiotics, green sputum despite the general belief is not a sign of infection most of the time, it could be just dehydrated mucus.
