Taste is altered: Especially if you have GERD, you may be describing sourbrash, a bitter taste in your mouth due to refluxed material that contains stomach acid. Alternatively, your problem may run the spectrum from dysgeusia (associated with zinc deficiency) to a brain issue involving the area that processes taste/smell.
