New thoughts: Great but hard question. Generally, those with emerging psychosis find themselves having "interesting, " "silly, " or "unusual" thoughts that they may or may not find distressing. They may become more alert to what's going on around them and more apt to personalize, e.g., assume people across the room whispering to each other are talking about them. Others may find it harder to follow the logic.

Hallucinations: Hallucinations are psychotic processes. Psychosis means the patient is getting external stimuli from the environment through one or more of his or her five senses, that does not objectively exist. In other words there are auditory, visual, olfactory, gustatory, and tactile hallucinations that can be experienced by the patient. Auditory hallucinations, however, are the most common.
