Usually transient: Most nosebleeds are transient and self limiting after clot formation. Probably caused by increased nasal pressure with forceful vomiting. Usual supportive measures for nose bleed include leaning forward and applied pinching pressure to nose. If bleeding is recurrent and excessive then should consult your physician.

Viral infection: Apply neosporin oint in his nostrils--they are probably dry.Give popsicles,electrolyte solution--make sure he is urinating.You can give crushed ice--hold mikk for 1-2 days.
