Asthma: Asthma is passed on through families. Your unborn child's risk may be up to 25%. Asthma can be treated and controlled and this is important so your child can live a normal life.

Unlikely: With proper treatment of mother, this infection should pose no risk to your unborn baby. Since asthma tends to run in families, monitor your baby closely for symptoms for several years, and notify the pediatrician for wheezing, prolonged cough after illness, night time cough, exercise intolerance, or any respiratory difficulties. The annual flu vaccine for all family members is advisable.

Not by his asthma: he will be more prone to asthma so no smoking at all around him/her and if he gets a chronic cough/wheezing have a high index of suspicion and tell his dr.
