Pregnant?: White, mild discharge from the vagina is usually normal and due to hormones. Sometimes old blood can appear dark brown as it is exposed to the air. If your most recent period was lighter or shorter than usual, it is possible you are pregnant and it was not a true period. It might be a good idea to visit a doctor or take a home pregnancy test.

Depends: Menstrual blood is different from circulating blood as it is a mixture of blood and uterine lining tissue, which are not found in regular blood. Please see your pcp as they will be more than willing to answer any questions for you regarding menstruation.

I took care of a patient with similar situation. It was a tampon - with the cardboard applicator... Patient almost developed into septic picture. Remove it - consider a thorough GYN exam to ensure it is all out and not anything else.

PROBABLY NORMAL: During a normal monthly menses (a period) a woman sloughs off the endometrial (uterus) lining. Blood, small clots and other debris are normal. Another possibility is a very early pregnancy/miscarriage which are very common and usually go unnoticed. A preganancy test may still test positive in some cases.

Normal: 'old blood' , blood not bleeding fresh out of blood vessel, turns brown after exposure to air and certain chemical environments. This is normal.
