See details: Cyclical breast pain is very common premenstrually. It is caused by hormonal changes that occur after ovulation. When you do not get pregnant, hormone levels decline and you get your menstrual cycle. At the same time, these hormones are no longer affecting your breast tissue therefore the pain in your breast subsides. The pain you're feeling on your right side is most likely what we call referred pain.
