Devic's Syndrome: Neuromyelitis optica (aka Devic's syndrome) is very rare and often difficult to diagnose. If you have the antibodies to aquaporin-4 then you almost certainly have the diagnosis. I would identify a neuro-ophthalmologist in your area with experience in diagnosing and treating the condition as you and your daughter move forward. Take care, and stay healthy!
