Go slow: Tapering off of Venlafaxine can be a challenge due to withdrawal symptoms. Tapering down in a gradual fashion over weeks instead of days can help ease the transition.Generally the new medication will be started at a low dose and worked up at the same time resulting in a "cross taper." Work with you MD if you have symptoms during the transition.
