Muscle irritability: The MRI and EMG just show nervous system is structurally intact. But muscle irritability won't show up on those. Muscle twitches can be caused by anxiety, hyperactive thyroid, electrolyte problems &medications/drugs. Talk to your doctor. If all these things have been ruled out, then non-addictive, long-acting medication can suppress anxiety and muscle irritability. Xanax (alprazolam) is for short term only.

Nutritional status: If all neuro tests come back normal, consider nutritional deficiencies, ie calcium, magnesium, Vitamin E, electrolytes, and stay hydrated.
