Not normal: If you normally get a period only once per month, it you are getting an extra period, this is not normal. The first thing to do would be to make sure you are not pregnant, which is a major common cause of abnormal bleeding. If you are not pregnant, having this happen only once would not be a big deal but if irregular menstrual cycles continue to happen, you should see a gynecologist.
