See doc, more info: There are a lot of things that could be going on- for instance, do you have a job that requires physical labor that could be causing you to be sore at night? Does it hurt more when you lie down? If so, this could be due to normal physiological factors, especially if laying on your side.Gravity can pull your abdominal contents inwards, putting strain on your rib muscles and decreasing lung capacity

Rib pain: Most rib pain in young adults is related to sports and local trauma. If the pain gets worse when you press on your ribs, then I would not worry, just take some motrin and give it time. If the pain does not change from pressing on the area, then have it checked by your doc in a week.
