No: If it's just your Mom and not several female relatives with early-onset cancer, there's no reason even to screen family members, though this is a common background for male breast cancer. I'd stop worrying and get on with your life.

That is a good: ...question but hard to answer without more data. Most (8-9 out of 10) breast cancers are not related to an inherited trait so just based on statistics, the answer to your question is probably no. That said, there could be a high risk gene passed from your mother to you, especially if she had cancer at an early age or if there are many other family members afflicted. Also, certain families....
