Possibly: D-dimer is a non-specific marker of inflammation or stress in the body. Really, any acute disease and chronic diseases that are acutely uncontrolled can increase it. Usually, it's not used as a marker for TIA but TIA could potentially increase it. It's used more often as a marker for possible DVT or PE.
