Tongue scraper: If you smoke, stop immediately. Xylitol mouthwash and an over the counter tongue scraper may help. Mouth breathing at night may exacerbate these symptoms also. Improve nasal congestion as needed with nasal strips, nasal steroid, antihistamine, decongestant, saline as needed. Consider a nighttime humidifier. See your physician with persistent symptoms as this can also indicate internal disease

You should see doc: There are many reasons why your tongue can be discolored. It is impossible to answer the question without a physical exam. Sometime spots need a biopsy, or scraping. Most of the time white spots are benign and can be normal, such as a geographic tongue, but someone should likely look at this especially if there has been a change.
