Is it possible to get an infection from rpoc 11 weeks after an abortion? how would they check for this?

Probably not.: I doubt it or you would still have drainage. But in any event confirm with OB

Doubtful: Any RPOC would likely have been expelled or resorbed by then although an ultrasound is the way to look at any uterine wall or painful conditions well, go back to your doctor so you can get specific advise

RPOC and infection: Yes, it is possible. If you have pain and fever and chills, lower abdominal tenderness, and or foul-smelling discharge from the vagina, please see your physician right away. RPOC are detected on pelvic ultrasound. Treatment may include a dilation and curettage(D&C).
