Cardiac work-ups: Can be quite costly. In a young man like yourself, the likelihood of a significant cardiac abnormality is quite remote. Why don't you go see your doctor and talk about it? He/She can examine you and reassure you or send you on if there seems to be something going on.

Never : Mess around with chest pains. You are young but still need to make sure the pain is not heart related. Talk to your doctor and get the appropriate testing done. Discuss the concern of finances as well. But need to rule out heart
