Nodule?: Hi. We usually consider "microcalcifications" in the setting of a thyroid nodule. You wouldn't know about the "calcium deposits on thyroid" without an ultrasound, but I hate to guess and assume, and you don't mention a nodule. So just let me say, if this is a thyroid nodule (often hypodense) with microcalcifications, do the FNA that was obviously recommended. Don't ignore it! Do the FNA!
