A member asked:

6 mth old very frequent, green mucuousy bm for 6 days. no rash or fever. alert and pleasant. pcp said it was teething. how so? how long will it last?

Loose link: There is no strong evidence that teething causes diarrhea or fever, contrary to popular belief. Green stools in an infant can be caused by infection, diet, or malabsorption. Babies with non-bloody diarrhea without vomiting, weight loss, fever or other signs of illness can be closely monitored for a few days, but beyond this should be evaluated for an underlying condition.
