Seek care ASAP: Unless you have eaten a dark food like chocolate that would explain the color you need to seek care ASAP.Dark black or coffee ground like vomit is possibly blood. You could have a bleeding ulcer, or leaking blood vessel.

ER: Please go to the ER. Dark brown vomit can be from something you ate but it can also be from an upper GI bleed. To make sure it is not the latter, go to the ER and get a CBC drawn.
