Certainly possible.: It certainly won't hurt to keep the semen nearer to the cervix. If the sperm is healthy and motile they should do well. One could also lie supine with hips up on a pillow after sex to keep semen in the vaginal vault. I would also be concerned about the vaginal pain on penetration and seek a physician consult for this.
