?Pap smear: The vaginal exam with a PAP smear, and "assessment of your cervix," especially with the use of a speculum and the tool used to acquire cervical cells for the pap smear, may cause some minor bleeding. Be sure to follow-up with the provider for your results of any testing, and especially if any bleeding returns or persists. Best wishes.

Yes it could happen: the speculum could have cause a mild irritation or abrasion on the mucosa of the vagina
