Ginkgo: As far as i know, ginkgo can be taken with or without food. It can take up to 4-6 weeks to have an effect. It has many suggested indications and many purposed mechanisms of action. It's main active components seem to be flavonoids and terpenoids. Its concentration can vary greatly, so if you take it, get it from a good reliable source. The biggest side effect is bleeding so be cautious.
