Depends on tissue: Embolization refers to placing a device in an artery supplying tissue downstream so as to induce blood clots closing off blood flow. Thus response is powerfully a function of what artery is embolized & whether collateral blood supply is present via other artery pathways so as to reduce the impact of blood supply loss on cell/tissue ischemia (insufficient blood supply for some/all cells to live).
